Window Exhibition: April

Each month our studio window displays the work of one or more of our members. April's window contains two large prints by Rachel Wilcox.

The images are printed from an aluminium plate with a texture of carborundum grit applied. Subsequently, additional colours and textures are layered on top using monoprint techniques. The 'Sea Poem' series comprises twelve unique prints inspired by  vistas of moving water and ever-changing light experienced whilst visiting North-East Scotland.

Window Exhibition: March

The March display featured the work of Dominique Coiffait:

I moved to Swainswick at the end of 2016, looking for a fresh start. I found the Bath Artist Printmakers studio during the 'Christmas Larks' open evening and enrolled in a couple of short courses with BAP member Angela Lai Yen and discovered that I really enjoyed printing with lino. Over the last year I have developed my own style of lino/collage, creating  three-dimensional  prints on paper.

My work is generally inspired by plants, nature, flowers in my garden and the surrounding landscape. I enjoy playing with colour and texture and pattern, all of which reflect my previous career working as a fashion textile designer in London, Paris and New York.
Many of my hand cut prints are available framed or unframed. Prices start at £20. I am also developing a small range of cards, gifts and products under the brand name 'Mr Nightingale'. For further information please email:

National Trust Commission

BAP member Dominique Coiffait has been commissioned by the National Trust to create an artwork for their Cotehele property in the Tamar Valley, Cornwall. Part of a scheme called ‘In New Art We Trust’, the finished piece will be exhibited alongside the Cotehele Floral Garland, hung every year in November. The commission helps commemorate the anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Dominique will be working on the project throughout 2018, making regular visits to the Grade I listed property for research and drawing. He'll also be running workshops with school groups, staff, volunteers and visitors to the estate. Visit here for updates as the project takes shape.

Larkhall Open Studios

BAP takes part in the Larkhall Open Studios event, this year on May 5th, 6th and 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The studio will be open throughout.
